CAFE BLACKBIRD CIRCLE

PLEASE NOTE:

THIS CIRCLE WILL MEET BETWEEN 5 and 7 on September 26 to accommodate a pianist at the cafe after our circle.

This Circle will meet on Thanksgiving Monday October 10th between 2 and 4.

We are excited to announce a new circle in the west end of Edmonton. BLACKBIRD CAFE formerly known as Jeffreys Cafe at 9640 142 street 780 451 8890.
Blackbirds is very welcoming to the idea of a Ukulele circle on Monday evenings between 6.30 and 8.30.
We agreed to try it twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. If we get enough interest and Blackbirds are still welcoming to us we may expand this to every Monday in the New Year.

The venue is often used for performers. We will have the front of the cafe. It does not have any couches and the tables and chairs can be rearranged as we like. It has good lighting and acoustics.

As it will be a self lead circle there will be no cost. We will play from the Beloff books and anything that takes our fancy and that people want to copy for the group.
As with Boganis, Blackbirds ask that we have a coffee, and maybe something to eat.

For people coming from the southside It is located about 15 minutes from the Whitemud exit at 149st st. You go to 142 st and then about 10 minutes to the venue. It has easy access from downtown, the westend and easier access than other circles to people from the north side.

It is booked to start September 12th and 26th. Come out and join us!!

Note this circle will replace the Lois Hole circle that has been CANCELLEd because the library does not have room in its programming this year for our program.

Thanks everyone.

    1. All are welcome! We will lead the circle from among ourselves. There is so much talent out there it should be no problem.. We have done it at Bogani when Gary was not available and we did it this summer at Fort Edmonton… no issue!!! we are so pleased that YOU will be there Gord.
