Friends: HULA’s Woodstuke next weekend

Our friends at HULA are hosting WOODSTUKE!

It’s 50 years since Woodstock! And our friends at HULA are celebrating by miniaturizing it and putting it in Sherwood Park – smaller crowd, choice selection of tunes, tinier instruments.

It’s free of cost, but you MUST register at HULA to attend.

You will be emailed the music and the directions to the venue once you register. Deadline is Friday, August 16. There will be prize draws and all kinds of good fun. See the HULA site for details.

HEY PLAYERS: Alphabetical Song Index

Picture this: a crowded, happy room full of semi-caffeinated ukulele players, each, in turn, choosing songs for the group to play. We hear your plaintive voices hoping faintly that the next player will tell you the page number before the song starts.

Sometimes the player announces the title, but hasn’t found the page in the book yet. Sometimes the title is tricky (is it Dock Of The Bay or Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay? No, wait, I meant something else!) Sometimes, people are talking or noodling between tunes, or something is misheard.

No problem! This can be solved without weeping, corporal punishment or rending your garments! Take your fate into your own hands and arm yourself with information.

You can get your own alphabetical index of the Beloff books right here. Print it! Download it to your phone! Put it on your iPad! Email it to your nephew! Go on, go nuts.

Download the alphabetical index PDF.

It’s also linked from the Song Titles: Beloff Books Full Index page at the top of the screen.
